Fishing Report Updates:
The last couple of days have brought steady rain and even some snow to southwest Montana, which is great news for anglers! The moisture has given our rivers a much-needed boost and should help extend our fishing season. The Big Hole water flows jumped from 841CFS to 2110CFS, while LOTG and the Lower Missouri River are now running around 4000CFS.
On the Big Hole, we’ve been fishing medium-sized dry/dropper combos or single small and techy dry flies. We started the month fishing the upper Big Hole above the Big Canyon. As flows have improved, we're now making our way downstream into the Canyon and Lower Big Hole, where conditions have become much more fishable.
Over at Land of the Giants, PMDs and Caddis are now in full swing. We’re starting to see Tricos on the Lower Missouri as well.
With improving water conditions and plenty of bug activity, it's a great time to get on the water!
Broke my rod but we landed it 🫡
Montana’s Most Wanted…
Two monsters are lurking in the shadows… they’ve been hooked, but they still haven’t been landed.
Will, the 29-inch rainbow and Frank, the 26-inch brown have both slipped away from the AO boat.
They’re still out there, taunting us. Think you’ve got what it takes to get them in the boat? Book a trip at Land of the Giants and come help us chase them down!
3rd Time’s a Charm. . . We finally roped in Bill! (Bill is this 2-foot Brown)
