MOLOKA’I, HAWAII

Atlas Outfitting is now doing a hunting and fishing program in Hawai’i, developed from the Flagg brothers’ roots. Come join us as we hunt axis deer and look for bonefish in the flats of Molokai, Hawai’i from our Lodge!

We have spent the last couple years axis deer hunting and bone fishing this remote island in our off season and wanted to share that experience with you! Many trips that other outfitters offer are either fly fishing OR hunting, why not both?!

Our set of dates were specifically chosen to provide the best experience for you! January into the beginning of February is the month that we all want to escape the cold and enjoy ourselves post-holiday season.

If you have a party that wants to just hunt, you should come during high tide week and spend all week focusing on getting a quality buck. Alternatively, if you want to fish for bonefish all week, come during low tide week. Lastly, if you want to get the full experience, come during a combo week and do it all!

Travel and Itinerary (Flights)

You will need to fly into Honolulu, Oahu International Airport (HNL) or Kahului, Maui Airport (OGG) and then onto the island of Molokai, HI (MKK) utilizing its hopper airline called Mokulele Airlines. Attached HERE is a helpful website and tips to planning your flight to Molokai, HI.

Please plan on arriving and departing Molokai, HI as early as possible on travel days (Sunday Arrival - Saturday Departure) when scheduling your flights. There is only one airline serving Molokai, HI and they are subject to weather, staffing, and mechanical issues that may cancel or delay your flight. This will allow you to catch the next flight in or out of Molokai, HI if issues occur for your originally scheduled flight.

Fishing / Hunting Licensing and Waivers

Please purchase a Hawaii hunting license here, and a Hawaii fishing license here (two different links) and then email them to me (info@atlasoutfitting.com) upon completion one month prior to the trip. In addition, attached here is our safety waiver. Please fill it out and email it to me (info@atlasoutfitting.com) one month prior to the trip as well. The entire group can sign one copy or sign individual copies, whatever is easiest.

 FAQs

  • You can either take your game with you as a check-in or donate it to us. If you’d like to keep your meat, we will debone it and freeze it for you in an insulated shipping box. You can either process it at home or take it to a butcher (there is no butcher on the island).

  • Here is a link from TSA that provides all of the information you will need to know.

In general, your gun-case needs to be locked, firearm unloaded, and when you go to check in your rifle, you need to, “declare your firearm,” and sign a TSA waiver. You CAN bring ammo in the same gun case or your alternative checked bag but it has to be boxed and the maximum you can bring is 10 lbs.

  • Absolutely! Individuals that are not participating in the guided fishing or hunting activities still count towards your group total of 4 people. We offer plenty of other activities too! We have a specific rate of $6,000/person for observers that are accompanying you on your Molokai, HI adventure!

  • We recommend you use our equipment (fly rods and firearms) because the gear is specific, previously setup / dialed, and it will give you less travel hassle.

Although, if you want to bring your own gear we completely understand. please call and let us know ahead of time.

  • Yes! Each guest gets one massage during their stay at the lodge. Additional massages are $120 per hour, plus gratuity.

  • Show them this link, or have them contact me (Ikaika Flagg) at +1 (406) 202-5383.
