Prime Time for Spring Fishing!
This is a great time of year to get into our calendar!
It’s been cold up here, and the snow pack is low, which means we could be heading into a low-water year. That makes the early-season the prime time to fish on the Missouri, so we recommend booking April and May!
June is already filling up fast, so if you’ve been thinking about a trip, now’s the time to lock in your early-summer dates while availability is still open. June is ideal for exploring multiple areas and trying a variety of fishing techniques. It’s also a great time of year for longer trips, giving you a full, well-rounded fly fishing experience.
Winter → Spring Fishing Tips
We have a lot of first-timers booking this year, which is very exciting! If you’re new or just want a refresher, check out these helpful tips:
Talk to the pros — local fly shops, friends, or an AO guide can speed up your learning curve
Focus on time spent on the water — experience matters more than gear!
Dress in layers, especially during this time of year
Fish during the warmest part of the day — that’s when the fish are most active
New Local Lodging
We’re excited to introduce a new Airbnb in our hometown, Boulder, Montana! There’s even an option to hire our local chef during your stay.
Boulder sits in between Helena, Bozeman Airport, and Butte, making it a perfect base location for your Montana fishing adventures. If you are planning a trip up here, definitely check out this local spot!
What’s been going on with AO in Molokai?
