Atlas Outfitting in Moloka’i!
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and are so excited to finally release this video!
“Back to the Roots” is our best representation of what it feels like to experience Moloka‘i. This adventure is about sharing our passion for the outdoors and reconnecting with our Hawaiian culture and people.
At its core, this film reflects aloha ʻāina, a deep love and respect for the Hawaiian islands and the responsibility that comes with it. It is not just about hunting, but about understanding and appreciating our roots.
We are excited to share our Hawaiian traditions with you all and look forward to this next chapter for Atlas Outfitting.
Featuring Coco and her niece all the way from Moloka’i, joining us in Montana for a day on the water! Coco is a huge part of our Moloka’i adventures, and we’re so grateful for her making this dream a reality.
The Montana Fishing Report
Now that we’ve (hopefully) transported you to the islands… let’s bring it back to Montana fishing 🙂
And honestly—it’s been awesome!
The Big Hole River has been fishing great since opening on April 1. There are still a few skwala stoneflies hanging around, and flows are looking solid. We’re starting to mix in more streamer fishing—think rubber legs, worms, and even some baetis mayfly patterns.
We’ve been primarily fishing the Missouri River. Overcast days have definitely been outperforming the sunny ones. Hot bead flies are still producing, but we’re starting to transition into more traditional sow bugs and baetis patterns. Worms and streamers are especially effective on those rainy, gray days, and we’re seeing fish push into faster water.
The spawn happened earlier this year (late March to early April), which is nature’s signal that spring is arriving sooner than usual. That means prime fishing is going to come fast—June and July are shaping up to be especially strong.
At The Land of the Giants, the lake is just starting to fish, with rainbows beginning to drop back down after spawning up at the damn.
Looking Ahead… To lock in current rates, we recommend booking before June 1, as prices for Land of the Giants trips will increase after that date!
Jerry landed the first brown of the year at Land of the Giants!
AO Guides, Kalama Flagg and Keith McGlothin, scouting the Lower Missouri. Kalama just bought a brand new drift boat!
One of many gorgeous days on the water :)
